Our Visit to Casper's Shawarma

510 Circle Dr E #12, Saskatoon, SK S7K 7C7

Cuisine: Syrian

Date: Mar 19, 2023

Spent: $25 per person (average)

We were so excited to try this restaurant after stumbling upon it on Google maps. It was rather new but their reviews were amazing.

When we arrived, we were greeted by an empty restaurant, no customers and no personality. The set up was really basic and looked really cold (read: unwelcoming) because of the big space and lack of decorations.

The menu was quite extensive and we took some time to finally decide what we want.

What we ordered: 1 kg mix BBQ 1 kg mix BBQ
Comes with charbroiled onions, tomato and a side of salad, hummus & garlic potato (choose between chicken kebab, beef kabab tawouk, beef pieces & lamb meat).

Freekeh and Hummus Freekeh (top) and Hummus (bottom)

The food did not live up to its reviews on Google maps. They were mediocre at best. One important thing to note is the length of time they took to serve us our food. Please do yourself a favor by not going there when you are hungry because you will end up starving before your food arrives.

Unfortunately, I don't think we will revisit this restaurant anytime soon. If we do, we'll definitely not go for the BBQ again.
