Our Visit to Churchill's British Cafe and Food Emporium

1702 Idylwyld Dr N, Saskatoon

Cuisine: British

Date: Sep 17, 2022

Spent: $13 per person (average)

The restaurant was mended by two extremely nice ladies who provided us excellent service.

Fish & Chips 2-Piece Cod & Chips $15.99
Steak & Guinness Pie
Vimto $2.49

We were fortunate to grab the last table for dine-in. Shortly after our arrival, there was a small queue to dine in. There are only a handful of tables as the store occupies a larger part of the shop. The store sells products from the UK which includes snacks, sweets, beverages, spreads and a lot more.

We had the Cod fish & chips and it was delicious. The batter was crispy and the fish was fresh. They were generous with the fries too. The meal in the photo is after splitting our meal between two person: 1 piece of cod and half a pie. It was our first time drinking Vimto too. Apparently Vimto is a soft drink first sold in Lancashire in the United Kingdom. It was first manufactured as a health tonic in cordial form, then decades later as a carbonated drink. It contains the juice of grapes, raspberries and blackcurrants, flavoured with herbs and spices (sourced from Wikipedia).
