We went to Diane's Kitchen for lunch and we were greeted by a warm lady.
The restaurant is quite small and basic but their menu is quite extensive. We ordered two dishes and we were served korean pancake and kimchi as appetizers.
Free appetizers: Korean Pancake and Kimchi
It's probably not a good idea to order a Japanese dish in a Korean restaurant. 😅 The Tonkatsu was a good portion but it wasn't very flavourful and juicy. The shredded cabbage that came with was bitter, we didn't even finish them. Those were fried onions on top of the Tonkatsu. We found them unusual and slightly irrelevant.
Tonkatsu, $18
Pork cutlet with vegetables and Korean style sauce
We preferred this next dish from the BBQ section. This dish came in a sizzling pan, with lots of pork, cabbage and onions. Don't be misled by the description though. The spice level was not high and they were mostly sweet.
Jeyook Bokkeum, $19
Stir-fried pork with Korean spicy sauce
We'd love to revisit Diane's Kitchen and try their Korean style fried chicken. We saw another table ordered it and they looked delicious! We skip ordering it this round as we wanted to try a variety of food. The minimum order for the fried chicken is half a chicken. Have you tried? What did you think of them?
