Cuisine: Chinese
Date: Feb 11, 2023
Spent: $18 per person (average)
We were a bit taken aback when we saw the restaurant's entrance. It must be the fanciest entrance to a restaurant that we've seen in Saskatoon. We were served with dim sum almost immediately, as soon as we were seated.
What we ordered:
Clockwise from top left: Steamed Soy Bean Sheets $6.75, Preserved Egg Yolk Bun $5.95, Steamed Pork Dumpling $6.75, Steamed Shrimp Dumpling $6.75
We were not handed the menu but were shown the dim sum directly. The young waiter did share the names but we had a tough time hearing him behind his face mask. 😅
Preserved Egg Yolk Bun, $5.95
The egg yolk was oozy and tasted good but the bun was a bit hard and the skin was thick. We couldn't even remove the skin before eating.
Deep fried dim sum, $5.95
We can't seem to find this on the menu. We requested for some fried dim sum and we chose this from the tray without knowing what is the fillings. To our surprise, the fillings were cream cheese! It was more fusion than chinese but it tasted good.
We were also served a pot of jasmine tea (not in photo). Our bill came to about $37+. Overall food was decent and we'll definitely be back again to try the other dim sum. It's probably wiser to get the menu so that we can plan our orders and have a better idea of what we're eating.
P/S: Prices and names of the dim sum may not be accurate as we did not obtain the receipt. They were matched to the menu we found on Google maps.
