Conveniently tucked behind 8th Street East, Gibson's Fish & Chips is a rather big restaurant with plenty of seatings inside. We chose to sit by the large windows to get some natural light.
What we ordered:
Calamari & Chips, $22.50
The calamari was cut into small bite size and fried to golden brown. The portion is good with lots of french fries and coleslaw as sides. The sauce paired well with the fried calamari.
Halibut & Chips, $24
We were told the Halibut is the special menu of the day, so we decided to try it. It is slightly more expensive than the Alaskan Cod but we couldn't tell the difference between the two fish 😳 We may just settle for the cheaper one next time. We ordered the 2-piece and it came with fries and coleslaw as well (hidden under the fish).
Service was friendly and food tasted fresh. We didn't feel too sluggish even though there was a lot of fried food.
There is even a nice handwritten note on the receipt 😊
