Our Visit to Mexican Bakery Treasure House

812 16 St W, Saskatoon

Cuisine: Mexican

Date: Feb 24, 2023

Spent: $9 per person (average)

If you ever find yourself nearby the Riversdale neighbourhood with nothing to do or nowhere to go, do consider popping by this small bakery. That was what we did on a Friday evening out in the -31°C wind chill while waiting for our next agenda.

The sweet lady owner noticed it was our first time there and introduced us to all the offerings she had on the display. It was the last hour before closing so there were not many options left.

What we tried:

Mexican Bakery Clockwise from top left:

  • Gluten Free: Corn bread moist and soft - $3.50
  • Concha: The most popular in Mexico with vanilla crust on top - $3.25
  • Concha: The most popular in Mexico with Chocolate crust on top - $3.25
  • Chocolate Square: A slice of butter loaf cake vanilla flavor Mexican style with chocolate - $3.30
  • Beso: Soft bread vanilla flavor assembled like a sandwich with jam in the middle - $3.30

We ended up buying everything on the non-fridge shelf 😅 In the fridge section, there were only a few of the Three Milk Cake In A Cup, Wedding Cookies and the Cream Cheese Baked Flan.

Verdict: Not the best baked goods we've had but the bakery does offer a good variety and something different from the usual, at a reasonable price. We'd still recommend for you to try them out and decide for yourself!

The bakery occupies a small space with the display counter out front and the kitchen directly behind it. No dine-in option available.
