Cuisine: Japanese
Date: Feb 10, 2023
Spent: $20 per person (average)
The restaurant is located upstairs. Big space with many tables to accommodate a big crowd.
We accessed the menu through scanning the QR Code.
What we ordered:
Sencha (Green Tea), $2.95
Basic green tea served in a tea bag. They provide hot water refill.
Pork Bulgogi Bento, $21.95
Everything in this bento is tasty but the portion is a bit small for the price. Clockwise from the top left is the main dish of pork bulgogi served on Japanese rice. Next to it is the chicken nanban, kimchi, shredded carrots, kakiage and some pickled cabbage right in the center of the bento. Chicken nanban's sauce was good but the chicken was lukewarm and didn't feel like it was prepared fresh upon order. Kakiage had a nice crunch to it.
Miso vege soup, $2.95
The miso soup is thick and flavourful with a few small pieces of tofu, daikon and carrots. Unfortunately it is charged separately when ordered with the bento.
Spicy Salmon Roll, $9.95
The salmon roll came in eight small pieces and a generous amount of spicy mayo. However, the presentation could be improved because the rice was not tightly pressed and pieces were not in the same size.
We were here for dinner, around 6.30pm and the restaurant only had 2 other tables. Service was prompt and courteous. We're interested in the BBQ but find them a bit pricey at around $20 per 6oz of meat. Perhaps another day when we're feeling more carnivorous.
