Date: Feb 12, 2023
Spent: $12 per person (average)
We don't often come across Sports bar with a high rating in Google maps (4.8★ at the time of posting), so The Hideout Lounge stood out and calls for a visit especially we were around the Sutherland neighborhood wanting to visit the well stocked K-Mart.
What we ordered:
Solaro's Creamy Garlic Ribs, $12 (with onion rings +$3)
Lunch size portion of our creamy garlic boneless rib bites paired with your choice of side.
The ribs were super flavorful (read: a tad salty), a perfect pair with beer (we were at a sports bar, geddit?). The portion was generous for the price. Onion rings had a good crunch to them as well.
Beef Dip, $12 (with fries)
Shaved beef roast paired with sauteed onion smothered in melted mozzarella and garlic butter. Served with homemade au jus.
We've really only found this dish in Canada and this would be our second time trying it. It was definitely much better than our first time (location not be to disclosed as it is outside of Saskatoon 🙃). What do we do with the au jus? Dip the bread in?
Coors Light, $6.50
This beer was refreshing and much needed to pair with the ribs! It has a good aftertaste too.
We were thankful for the lunch menu which had a good selection because the full menu looked intimidating to us. Overall, the service was quick and friendly. Somehow the bill was presented to us soon after we were done with our meals, which gave us the impression that we were being kicked out. Is this a common practice in Canada?
