Our Visit to Yip Hong's Dim Sum

3140 Preston Ave S, Saskatoon

Cuisine: Chinese

Date: Oct 29, 2022

Spent: $15 per person (average)

Our first visit to this restaurant and we discovered plenty of dishes that we can still come back for.

What we ordered:

Yip Hong Dim Sum From left to right:
Baked B.B.Q. Pork Pastry $5.75
Shrimp Rice Rolls $6.50
Deep Fried Prawn Dumplings $6.50
Steamed Minced Pork & Shrimp Dumplings $6.50

The fillings for the pastry was not very flavorful and the pastry skin was not fragrant. This dish is our least favorite one for this visit. The shrimp rice rolls were mediocre and had a rather thick skin. The deep fried prawn dumplings were served piping hot and came with mayonnaise. The steamed minced pork & shrimp dumplings was our best dish for this visit. They were meaty and juicy.

Creamy Butter Buns Creamy Butter Buns $5.50

There are three small buns served in a bamboo basket.

Each table will get a complimentary pot of hot jasmine tea and cold water shortly after being seated. We were asked to place our order through the QR code.

Next time when you are there, look up at the ceiling. 😉
